After struggling through the miners strike shortly after returning to work Gud had to take early retirement due to several severe heartattacks leading to him having a triple heart bypass,now retired and on the mend he started doing the things he enjoyed again like walking and racing his greyhounds and keeping and breeding canaries and finchs he also enjoyed watching Boxing,snooker,darts,horseracing.Over the years he also became grandad to David,Damion,Dean and great grandad to Kimberly,Rosie,Bethany,Millie.
