At St Bartholomews Church on 2nd APRIL 1955 Gud and Flo were married,they started out married life at his parents home until in 1956 they moved into there own home on Scotch Spring Lane,Stainton. On 7th January 1957 Gud became a father when Flo gave birth to there son David George,After about 18months they moved back to his grandmas house on Manor Road. Aswell as being a hardworking family man Gud still kept dogs he loved walking and would walk for miles with his greyhounds,he also enjoyed taking them coursing and racing which led to him often running many tracks allover the country for example:-Wishaw and other Scottish tracks,Stanley in County Durham,Skegness,alot of the old tracks are no longer there anymore,he also had alot of traveller friends who he would meet up with every year at Appleby horse fair and trials,he also rented an alottement from the pit where over the years had kept horses,cows,pigs,sheep,goats,ducks,chickens etc
